Friend of the team

I have raced and I've been to races. I personally know John Doonan. This was a very well put together documentary of what goes on and what went on. I got to hear about the project from someone who was involved but to see it visually and the way it was put together. Hats off to those who were involved with the effort and this documentary was great. Nothing became too technical that it would lose someone but there was just enough to show how much went into the effort to make it all happen. From the development, to the pit crew to driver selection. It showed what a massive amount of dedication from a group of people can accomplish!

Geat Documentary On Nascar and Le Mans

This really goes behind-the-scenes of the technical stuff and the testing and the environmental changes required for modern motor-racing.It also showcases something which has only been achieved recently; despite both sports having absolutely decades of coverage.I'm really proud of the film-makers and the way it is honest and direct and just foll of warm passion for the sport.The drivers are experienced pros hand-picked and they did an unbelievable job in getting a Nascar race car; along with the engineers; Le Mans 24 Hour - ready. It's a difficult feat!I loved the ineraction with the fans and the passion before the race day! I loved the romance! I love the detail and the passion and the sheer scale of dedication required to even get a car to finish this tournament!I'm a big racing fan and this is one of the best motor-racing documentaries which I have seen yet. Excellent stuff! It praises both Nascar and Le Mans 24 Hours without being overbearing or pretentious! That is a hard feet when you have so many great personalities involved!

Least jingoistic US Documentary ever,...

Yes, surprising, but there's very little of the usual "we're so great" attitude that one normally expects from US people and film makers.Instead, there's a tale of hard work, co-operation, dedication, testing, re-testing, more testing, and a commitment to each other to get the car to Le Mans, and get it across the finish line.It's no spoiler to race fans to know the team achieved that goal, or that the items that caused headaches on race day were not items manufactured in house at Hendrick Motorsports.The pit crew being recognized and rewarded for their commitment and training was the icing on the cake, and looked to have surprised many well regarded crews from other teams.The one thing not covered, was how fast the Garage 56 NASCAR was compared to the leading LMPT cars, and how some of them were using it as a drafting partner on the long straights, where it was close to the same top speed.This is a documentary that will leave race fans smiling, and is absolutely worth the watch,. The film production crew should all be equally as proud of their work and story telling as the race team were in achieving the goals set.
